Sven the Reindeer
Sven is the loyal pet reindeer and companion of Kristoff, a rugged mountain man. Together, the duo run an ice harvesting business (which has greatly enhanced Sven's overall strength, making him quite the force) and reside outside the city of Arendelle in the Valley of the Living Rock, where a community of trolls thrive. The trolls adopted both Kristoff and Sven when they were children, and raised them. Also, Sven was rescued by Kristoff as a young fawn, and remained by his side ever since. Though Sven cannot speak, Kristoff has come to fully understand the reindeer merely through the latter's actions and expressions, to the point where he does his own (surprisingly accurate) voice-overs for Sven.
Sven is goofy, loyal and rather childish. He spends most of the film by Kristoff's side, acting as his closest friend (even in their younger years) and conscience. And while Sven may not seem incredibly intelligent, he does have a strong moral character. Throughout the film, he constantly convinces Kristoff to do the right thing, including assisting Anna in her journey to find Elsa, and later returning to Arendelle to confess his love for the princess after their adventure comes to a conclusion. Along with Kristoff, Sven also seems to be greatly close to Olaf, enjoying the snowman's antics and eventually creating a close bond throughout the course of the film. As a running gag, however, Sven tries to grab a bite of Olaf's carrot nose. In the end of the film, he manages to do just that, but immediately returns it, showing he was merely being playful with his new-found friend, much to Olaf's delight.
Key to his character, Sven lacks qualities of an actual reindeer, aside from appearance and vocal affects. Instead, he's shown to have the personality of a dog, as he's constantly seen panting (though reindeer tend to do this, as well), wagging his tail, and performing the "play bow" stance, which dogs tend to use as a way to initiate playtime.
When he was very little, Kristoff and Sven worked together in the ice harvesting business. When they got lost in the woods and Kristoff spotted some ice, he and Sven folloed the trail to a group of trolls, who adopted them as their own sons. As the years progressed, Sven and Kristoff continued to work in the ice harvesting business and were always ready for anything. Everything except for the sudden winter, that is.
The duo then left for Wandering Oaken's Trading Post to get some supplies, such as a rope and a hatchet, and then, with the help of Anna, got some carrots for themselves and left for the North Mountain to complete Anna's quest. When they got to the North Mountain, he stayed at the base of the stairs of the ice palace until Kristoff, Anna, and Olaf came back. Next they went to the trolls when they discovered that Anna had been struck in the heart, and then returned to Arendelle when they heard that only an act of true love could thaw a frozen heart so that Anna could kiss Hans. But when Kristoff started to give up hope to go back, Sven had to force his friend to return to save Anna from disaster. Once Anna froze, and when Alf-layla Wa-layla was formed from Erazor Djinn and the seven World Rings, Sonic the Hedgehog, the Prince of Arendelle was encouraged to defeat Erazor and Sven even encouraged him to fight for his sister. And once Erazor was defeated and summer returned to Arendelle, everything was as good as new. He and Kristoff then became Arendelle's Ice Masters and Managers under Elsa's orders.
When it came to Anna's nineteenth birthday, Sven worked with Kristoff, Elsa, Sonic, and Olaf to create the best birthday ever. It turned out to be a great success. However, when it came to Sonic's sixteenth birthday, Dr. Eggman threatened Arendelle that he would destroy the city if they did not give him the seven Chaos Emeralds. Elsa, Anna, and Sonic then left to defeat Eggman for good. He and Kristoff then stayed behind to look over Arendelle until they returned. Elsa and Anna returned without Sonic, telling them that he would come back to Arendelle eventually.
And the princess and queen were right. Five years later, Sonic came back with Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Rouge, Omega, Amy, Cream, Cheese and Chocola, Gamma, Espio, Vector, Charmy, and Sticks. Once the earthquake struck, Elsa was captured, and Kristoff and Sven told them the news. Sonic, Shadow, Amy, Knuckles, and Blaze then left to save the queen, and once they defeated the Master with Silver (the Solaris Knight), Cosmo (the White Mystic Ranger), and Nack (the Wolf Warrior), Kristoff found out that Sonic was actually his nephew, and Sven was his uncle, too. They all lived happily for the rest of their lives, and Sven and Kristoff kept their title as the kingdom's Ice Masters and Managers.
