Elsa

Elsa, Queen of Arendelle, is the older sister of Princess Anna and Sonic and was next in line for Arendelle's throne, until her powers over ice and snow led her to becoming the famous Snow Queen.

As the queen regnant of the kingdom of Arendelle, Elsa appears calm, reserved, regal and, unlike her sister, is experienced in grace, energy, and poise. Beneath this elegant appearance, however, Elsa is quite complex; in truth, Elsa is troubled with her abilities — a trait that stems from a traumatic incident as a child.

From said concern, Elsa is sensitive towards other people and their well-being, as Elsa always felt that she had to be far away from people as much as possible in order to keep them as safe as possible. As such, she felt that she could not truly rule a kingdom because of this flaw, although she tried her hardest to repress her abilities for the sake of the kingdom and to be a good ruler for Arendelle when her time came, thus gaining a great sense of responsibility at an early age. Often, although Elsa demonstrates her willingness to sacrifice her own happiness for everyone else's, she herself feels irritated from the restraints that she is forced into, most evidently on her coronation day when she was to become queen, even though she was very apprehensive from the threat of her wintry powers and simply be accepted for who she is.

As a very young child, Elsa used to play with Anna by showing her her ice powers. At the age of eight, however, while they were playing, Elsa struck Anna with her powers by accident. This almost caused Anna's death. When the King and Queen took the two sisters to the forest, where the trolls lived, Grand Pabbie, the oldest one out of them all, saved Anna and warned Elsa, "Elsa, your power will only grow. It is beautiful and amazing beyond imagination, but I also sense grave danger. You must learn to control it. Fear will be your enemy." The King and Queen then decided to conceal her in a solitary room until her powers were controlled. The only time she left her room when she was young when she saw that she and Anna had a younger brother to help keep them company. This brother was not human in any way. He was identified as Sonic the Hedgehog, and he lived up to his name. He and Elsa would seldomly talk to each other about what Sonic was reading and, at times, the blue hedgehog tried to convince Elsa to come out and play with him and Anna. As the years progressed, Elsa's powers grew significantly. They were so powerful that she ended up having to wear gloves in order to keep them from hurting anyone. At age 19, Elsa suffered the most grief when she heard that both her parents had drowned in a shipwreck. Sonic tried to talk to her to think about all the positive things, but that didn't necessarily work out, because he and Anna shared the same amount of grief that she had.

Three years later, Elsa was ready to become coronated Queen Elsa of Arendelle. When she was asked to remove her gloves when the scepter was handed to her, she nervously gave them to Sonic and after the bishop said his prayer, she placed it down and put her gloves back on. That evening, she enjoyed watching the ballroom dancing, but Sonic was being a little suspicious. When he came back to tell Elsa about how Anna was acting and was getting ready to marry Hans, she told her younger sister the truth and, as soon as Anna and Sonic started arguing with each other, she lashed out her hand and revealed her powers (once again, by accident). She and Sonic then fled to the North Mountain, where she knighted him as Knight of the Wind and Genie of the Ring.

A few days later, Anna arrived and Elsa was glad that she was able to visit, though very concerned that she might hurt Anna and/or Sonic. Anna tried to get her to return to Arendelle with her, and Sonic was up for the plan. However, Elsa was hesitant and after being pushed to her extreme limits, she struck both her younger siblings and, after Sonic had told her that he needed to retrieve the Seven World Rings, wished him luck and made Anna leave the ice palace by force. She then started to be fearful all over again.

When Prince Hans and an army of Arendelle's best soldiers appeared at the summit, she ran upstairs to the throne room and tried to defend herself. Eventually, she was provoked, yet ended up being imprisoned when she was unconsious. Hans then pleaded with her to bring back summer, but she said that she couldn't. A few minutes later, Sonic charged into the prison wall and set her free. Together they ran for dear life after Sonic had sealed the prison door and ended up in the middle of the fjord. There Hans found them and tried to lie to Elsa, "Your sister is dead! Because of you!" When Anna really died and sacrificed her life to save Elsa's, Sonic avenged her by defeating Erazor Djinn. However, before he made his three wishes, Anna came back to life and Elsa freed the land from the snow and ice because, as the saying goes, "only an act of true love will thaw a frozen heart."

During Anna's nineteenth birthday, Elsa had a cold that almost crashed the entire party, but that was quickly fixed just before a new villain named Dr. Ivo Robotnik (Dr. Eggman to Sonic, of course), who was originally named Julian Kentoburr. She then left with Anna and Sonic to try to defeat him and ended up meeting with Miles Prower and Knuckles the Echidna. Miles Prower was then nicknamed Tails because he had two tails that helped him try to fly. After Dr. Eggman's defeat, she left with Anna back to Arendelle after wishing Sonic good luck in his adventures.

Five years later, Sonic was able to return with Tails and Knuckles, as well as Shadow, Sticks, Rouge, Omega, Gamma, Amy, Silver, Blaze, Cream, Espio, Vector, and Charmy. She was unable to meet them, for as soon as the earthquake had hit, Mephiles the Dark (the Duke of Weselton) captured her along with many different robots. She then was placed in another prison cell, one of wind, fire, lightning, poison ivy, and water. Once Sonic, Shadow, Blaze, Knuckles, Silver, Amy, Cosmo, and Nack freed her, she then left to Arendelle to continue ruling. However, the next day, as soon as Sonic had left, she started seeing visions that he might have been killed. She then continued to rule, but she was very sad until Sonic and the others had returned. She learned that she was, in reality, his sister with Anna, and together, everyone lived in Arendelle peacefully for the rest of their lives, especially since Eggman had switched sides along with Metal Sonic. She still has her doubts, but she knows that Eggman will always try to serve a good cause.
